Did you lose your photos, videos or other files after deleting them or formatting your USB flash drive? Maybe they were baby photos or other memories you can’t replace. In this video tutorial, I show you how I recovered my lost photos from a USB drive with EaseUS Data Recovery Wizard. The same steps also work for SSDs and hard drives. This software worked 100% for me.
Download EaseUS Data Recovery Wizard Free
According to EaseUS, the free version recovers up to 2 GB of data. If you need to recover more, you have to buy the paid version.
Before You Start
- Stop using the drive. Don’t copy new files to it. New data can overwrite the deleted files, and then they can’t be recovered anymore.
- Use a different drive for the recovered files. Never save them to the drive you are recovering from. In the video, I saved my photos to my SSD.
How to Recover Deleted Photos and Files
- Download and install EaseUS Data Recovery Wizard with the button above.
- Connect your USB drive and open EaseUS Data Recovery Wizard.
- Select the drive you want to recover. In my case, it was the USB drive H:, but it can also be your SSD or hard drive. Then click Scan.
- Wait while the program scans the drive. You can already double-click the photos it finds to preview them.
- When the scan reaches 100%, the software organizes the files it found into folders. It can find a lot of data (87.9 GB in my case), so choose the files and folders you need the most.
- Select them, click Recover and choose a folder on a different drive.
- Wait until the recovery is finished. The files are recovered one by one, which can take a while for large folders. Then open the folder and check your files.
Files Not Deleted but Hidden?
If your files disappeared from a USB drive without you deleting them, a virus may have hidden them. In that case, see how to remove a virus that hides all files and folders on a USB drive. Lost files from your desktop after turning off OneDrive? See how to get your desktop files back from OneDrive.
